Hyundai Leads Industry in Top Safety Picks

595 × 394

For the second year in a row, Hyundai has earned more Top Safety Picks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) than any other automaker. With four vehicles earning the highest IIHS designation of Top Safety Pick + and six vehicles earning Top Safety Pick standing, nearly the entire Hyundai lineup has been awarded. The Santa Fe, Kona, Sonata and Elantra were named Top Safety Pick +, thanks to good ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, headlights and head restraint tests, and a superior rating for front crash prevention. The Santa Fe XL, Tucson, Ioniq, Ionis PHEV, Elantra GT, and Accent earned a Top Safety Pick rating with good ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests, as well as an acceptable or good rating in the passenger-side small overlap front test, as well as advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention and an acceptable or good headlight rating.  “To repeat with the most number of awards in the industry is a great accomplishment,” said Andy Freels, president, Hyundai America Technical Center. “Our blend of advanced safety features and structural engineering truly offer something that our owners and new car shoppers can really appreciate.” Phillips Auto Group in Frankfort, Lansing, and Bradley has a great selection of safety award winning new Hyundais.
